Soybean

It is always nice to copycat menu. And soybean base food is one of menus that is so simple to copy. As its well known that tofu is familiar, I think it must be hundred times I have this as main course in my menu. And this tofu balls is my favorite. You may have them fried for snack time or have some other hot and spicy spices to serve a nice cuisine. Fried with spicy herbs (sambal goreng) tofu combine with warm white rice is the best and least expensive menu ever. Even those Crazy Rich Asians will love it...




That is the fact about tofu: everyone favorite. You might mention tempeh (fermented soybean cake) as another favorite, but tofu is still the winner. Some people associate the word ant term of tempeh as something related to weakness and poverty. Mental tempe means poorly less-progressive mentality and bangsa tempe means more likely the poor nation. But you don't have that negative association with tofu. Even that all know the fact that tofu and tempeh are siblings, made of same raw ingredients and similar nutrition contents.


You may find tempeh in daily Indonesian menu. But tofu is more popular among wider or Asian society. You have very affordable fried tofu and tempeh as street food in many Asian Countries but we also may found another Sapo Tofu menu that is considered as fine dining menu in Chinese restaurants. Both are considerably healthy and popular as soybean food, so between tofu and tempeh, choose you fighter.
